How membership works
From application to your first farm
Membership gives you a verified membership number and the host contact list. Placement is arranged directly with the host you choose.
Receive your membership
Once registered, you receive a membership number and the WWOOF India host list by email.
Contact your host
Choose a farm, quote your membership number, and agree your visit directly with the host 2-3 weeks in advance.
The exchange
Help that goes both ways
What you contribute
Usually 4-6 hours of farm help each day, split between morning and evening depending on the host and season. Sunday is off.
What hosts provide
Free food, accommodation, farm knowledge, and the opportunity to participate in daily rural life.
What you arrange
Your travel costs, visit schedule, minimum stay, medication, insurance, and direct communication with the host.
Annual membership
One membership. Twelve months of access.
Couples or partners must complete a separate application form for each person.

Before you apply
Read the programme guidelines
These standards protect volunteers, hosts, farm communities, and the places you visit.
Discipline and conduct
Use of drugs or narcotics is strictly prohibited. Respect rural customs, maintain appropriate personal boundaries, and follow the host's reasonable farm and household guidance.
Free food and accommodation
Hosts provide simple, nutritious free food and accommodation. Facilities vary by farm, so discuss diet, sleeping arrangements, minimum stay, and daily routine before confirming a visit.
Safety and responsibility
Take care of your valuables and personal wellbeing. WWOOF India cannot accept responsibility for accidents, illness, injury, or other unforeseen events. Suitable travel and medical insurance is recommended.
Medical preparation
Bring any prescribed medication you need. People with asthma, blood-pressure, heart, or high-altitude concerns should seek medical advice before selecting a placement.
Environmental care
Keep living and working areas clean, dispose of wrappers and plastics responsibly, protect local ecology, and leave only footprints when your stay ends.
